Love him or hate him, Donald Trump is a master at publicity getting him more attention in a month than most business people are able to achieve in a lifetime.

While you can argue with his business practices, his motivations, his ability to operate a business, you cannot argue with his mastery of the American pshyche – his total dominance in the area of publicity.

Be it Seth Godin, Dan Kennedy or Donald Trump, they all understand the power of print – each spends a significant amount of their time writing books, developing book ideas, collecting and researching material and adding content to their latest books.

One of my favorite Donald Trump blog postings of 2006 sais the following about his book writing discipline:

When I’m writing a book, which seems to be most of the time these days, I will spend up to seven or eight months putting together notes, collecting articles, dictating stories and ideas before I even begin to actually put it all together. It’s a long process, and it requires patience and perseverance to see it through to the finished product. I will admit that sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it, because it’s not an easy endeavor. But when the book is done, it’s a great feeling. It’s an accomplishment that has taken painstaking time. People won’t see the work that goes into a book, but anyone who has written one will tell you that diligence is a must. They don’t just materialize out of nowhere.

It can work the same for you, if you have the discipline to stick with writing your own book, ebook, report or other information product you will end up feeling great, earning more money in 2007 and launching the beginnings of a publicity juggernaut that will help you succeed in almost any business you dream of.
