My Opinions About Affiliate Marketing Versus Marketing Your Products
It's almost the weekend, ah isn't summer great!!
I've been quiet so far this week, had some wisdom teeth removed, not
so much fun for anyone else who has gone through this - though it
never is quite as bad as we first think it will be.
Anyway - the painkillers are wearing off, and I'm so thankful to be
eating solid food again - all is right in my world once again.
Here's a quick note I put together for anyone struggling with Affiliate
Marketing versus Marketing Your Own Products online.
This may be a controversial opinion with some, but this information
is based on facts of first-hand knowledge about MANY successful
online entrepreneurs - in many different markets.
Here you go - Enjoy the weekend...

Affiliate Marketing Or Market Your Own Products?
How should you organize your online business?
Affiliate marketing seems to make sense, its easy and low cost
to start, and you can be up and running within a few days - but
the struggle is how to get traffic and make your offer different
than all the others?
On the other hand, creating your own product is what you may
really want to do, if not for being so unsure about what topic
to write about and finding the time in your busy life to get
started?
Let me share two important true facts with you about choosing
between affiliate marketing and producing/marketing your own products.
Tip 1: 99% of Successful Online Entrepreneurs Do Both
Tip 2: Most Successful Online Entrepreneurs Lead With Their Own
Product To Build Affiliate Business

Simple Way To Become An Information Entrepreneur
Do you think there is a difference between someone who writes
a fiction manuscript and someone else who authors their own
instruction, self-help or "how to" book?
This is an interesting question I've asked to many of my
book coaching clients, subscribers and customers for our
"Ultimate Information Entrepreneur's Success Package"
In some cases, people answer no. They don't feel there is
any difference. A writer is a writer is a writer.
In other cases, I get a firm "YES", there are differences.
Problem is, its sometimes challenging to understand what that
difference really is.
If you understand this one difference between fiction writers
and non-fiction writers - you will never struggle with your
infoproduct business again!
The answer is that there is a very BIG difference, especially
between highly successful writers in both fields.
You may have a few great ideas you want to write about.
There is a hungry market just waiting for product like yours,
but you freeze when it comes to knowing how to organize,
structure and write a product that will sell?
But you get stuck because...
You Are Trying To Write A Story Instead Of
Organizing Information

How To Capture A High Demand Niche With Your Own Infoproducts
Here's an email I received last week from one of my subscribers,
he's about to start work on a new information product, has done
his research well - but still may have missed one very important
step - here's his question and my response.
Now I'll be the first to admit, there are not enough hours in the
day to answer every email I get - but this one caught my eye
because it shows he is serious about his business, is taking the
time to objectively look at his project and he is obviously
dedicated to making this business work.
I have ALL KINDS of time to spend with questions like this, because
I know in the end, the advice will help.
Here's his question...
"Jeff, just wanted to ask you a few simple questions. I know you are
an expert at this, so I thought I would ask one of the best. :)
I've found a niche that I an ebook might do well in. According
to Wordtracker, the main search term for this niche gets close
to 700 searches a day. I checked the Ad rates on Overture, and
most of the top ten bids are at least $1 or a bit more. I do
think this niche might be more popular in one part of the year,
so it will be seasonal I expect.
SO...to my question.
How do you market your ebook when the Adrates are so expensive?
Do you just look for smaller keywords and go for those?
Also, if I want to use articles as my main traffic source
(which may take some time), but I want to make sure my site
converts first, how should I go about it without spending a lot
in advertising?
I would really appreciate your thoughts on this Jeff. You have
always given me great info.
Take care,
(Subscribers Name Withheld)"

How To Really Connect With Your Market
In the early days of creating products and marketing information
on the internet, you could get away with writing almost anything
at all, and still get some decent results.
Today, marketing information products online is becoming more
advanced, and we constantly have to be building on the fundamentals
to make sure we are keeping one step ahead of the massive "noise"
Its not just in internet marketing either, check out how many sites
there are on topics such as golf, health and fitness, finance,
job searching, etc...
You need to break through this noise, to really accelerate your
business you need to somehow come across as different...
You Need To Really CONNECT With
Your Market
Have you ever been on an airplane that takes off in cloudy,
rainy weather, only to pop through the clouds a few minutes later
to find the sun shining bright?
The sun never goes away, it just gets hidden by a thick layer of
clouds.
So, how do you get your business to operate "above the clouds"?
Here are 2 important techniques for connecting with your market...

Unfortunately - Losing Your Pants Is The Small Business Norm
Here's a great article in the Wall Street Journal that demonstrates
how much small business owners/entrepreneurs can lose by chasing
their dream without first testing their idea and business model.
The main reason we put together the "Ultimate Information Entrepreneur's
Success Package" was to prevent this from happening to Infopreneurs.
There is no need to spend any more than $100 to completely test a
market - we tell you how we've done it again and again in the Guidebook.
So long as dreamy eyed technogeeks continue to jump into a pond full
of alligators, businesses will continue to fold and millions of dollars
will be lost.
Then, be happy to know that there are many ways to avoid becoming a
story in the next small business failure article.

Rest In Peace Corey Rudl - Let's Remember...
Some emotional memories I have about the grandaddy of
Internet Marketing (and he was only 34!)
If you have any thoughts to share - feel free to add a comment
below...
I still remember May 2002 when Corey's Marketing Secrets
course hit my doorstep in Ottawa, Canada with a big THUD!
At the time I was bringing in good money creating courses,
workshops and service/training programs for various
companies - but quite unhappy with all the "crap" I had to
put up with that goes with working for companies.
It's as clear as a bell, after cracking the first of two
massive manuals, I couldn't put it down. Hours later, I
was still devouring this information, every step seeming to
build on the other - all making perfect sense.
The next day, I read it all again!
I recall the feeling that this is IT (The BIG IT). I knew
the sky was the limit - that this was the vehicle for
marketing a course and book that I had wanted to write for
years.
Corey was responsible for literally changing my life - Tony
when on to help through his Inner Circle program and amazing
things happened.
I only write this, because I've talked with so many other
people that started around the time, that have very
similar stories - and hell...I'm Irish, so tend to thing of these sad times in terms of memories.
Anyway - hoping peace and strength for his family and extended
internet family.
Rest in Peace!

I Just Had To Share This Marketing Secret With You...
In less than 2-hours, I made the last change to my mincourse
that now brings in 4X more sales than 8 previous versions...
That was almost 2-years ago, I haven't changed one word since!
Here are the mistakes I corrected...you can do the same.
If your sales are limping along, your website conversion is
stuck in the mud no matter how many changes you make to
your sales copy, then an effective e-course or minicourse
is one way to pull a much larger sales conversion out of
the same number of visitors to your site.
Not convinced?
Perhaps its because writing pre-sales minicourses is a
science in itself.
You can't expect to throw 7 pages of information up, slap a
title on it and instantly start to see the sales come in.
In fact, it took me almost 8-months and more than 10 tries
before I figured out the formula for connecting with
readers, creating an instant trust relationship, convince
them they will find the answer to their most compelling
questions with links back to my products.
By the way - the method that saved me is outlined over at:
http://www.create-e-mini-course.com
Along the way, I made almost every mistake in the book.
Since then, I have worked with many others to setup their
marketing campaigns, and have noticed 3 common, but deadly
mistakes when creating e-mini courses... Read More Here
