Anyone who has picked up a copy of "The Ultimate Information Entrepreneur's Success Package" will know I'm a big fan of using the "piggybacking" approach to discovering highly successful, in-demand topics for e-books and information products.
By piggybacking, I mean choosing your e-book or infoproduct topic in line with an already hot selling product or service.
Otherwise known as "low hanging fruit", these are topics that are already in the minds of your prospects, they want to know more - getting their hands on anything to do with certain items is all it takes to make your e-book or infoproduct a best-seller.

Get Ready For .tel domain extensions
As we move toward the next decade's advancement in converged services including mobile voice and data merged services, there will need to be standards around identification of users in both data and voice contexts.
Need to get hold of someone at hertz.com, well contact them using a next-generation application at hertz.tel
Telephone companies have had the standard Enum service for years to dole out and control number generation - now we have domain control for purposes of communication rather than just surfing.
Information product publishers and online marketers will be in a good position to get hold of their own .tel extension when they hit the market in 2007.
Between now and then, no doubt you will hear a great deal about it - but lets keep in mind this is as important for your information product business as it is for the biggest corporations.
Here's an article with more information...

Your e-Book on an Ipod?
eBook reading devices have come and gone (mostly gone) - often because the real market for mobile reading devices is in fact multi-functions such as mp3, phone, organizer and e-book reader.
Well, this time, we are in the midst of a massive revolution of iPod users - to the point where you have to ask yourself as an e-book publisher - is it time to consider Ipodders as a viable market for your e-books?
Answer is maybe!
The iPod comes with a nifty notes reader that allows viewing of small text files. There are iPod users that have figured out how to take an ebook, convert it into a text file and split it into multiple smaller text files to read on their IPod.
You will find opensource book at Guttenburg that are already in text format, but most commercial ebooks are either in Adobe PDF or compiled into an exe format from html.
For a reader to view a pdf ebook on their Ipod they would need:
1. Convert pdf to text file (I'm sure there are lower cost tools out there, but one example is this one for $40 is this PDF for Word Converter Once you have the file in MS Word format you can export or save as a text file easy enough.
2. Text file splitter. Low and behold, there is a free IPod text splitter available here that will take your text file and split it into various files that can be uploaded to your Ipod.
Now, will the future see pdf reader on IPod - I would think so, and when this happens the entire process becomes much simpler.
Eventually it will happen, so you'll want to start thinking about text formatted "teasers" that IPod users can download and that will drive them to your website to purchase more.
Its a captive audience for your e-book and information product marketing business - you just need to reach them with today's technology.

Why Home Business Internet Marketing Experts Love the 15th?
As a home-based online marketing entrepreneur, can you guess why we would look forward to the 15th of every month?
In fact, for me, the 15th of the month is like Christmas - and best of all for those who market their own products online, Christmas comes at least 12-times each year!
For most of us who create and market our own information products online, we manage our own affiliate and partner programs - where we pay commissions to active affiliates each month for putting our product in front of their customers and generate sales - LOTS OF SALES!
ITS LIKE SPENDING $1 TO BUY $4
How would you like to find a store where you could walk in, any day of the week, as often as you like, and spend $1 to buy $4? Or imagine that you went in with $10 and received $40 in return?
Now, because this formula works so well and you are such a shrewd marketing entrepreneur, you quickly figure out that if you give 100 people $10 and they each go in and change their $10 for $40, you've now turned $1,000 into what?
Wait - check your math again - that's $4,000 leaving you a profit of $3,000 each and every month that these same 100 people drop by the store and exchange their $10 for $40.
Its a simple example, but then again, the most profitable online marketing really is simple.
You now know the answer to our riddle - why do home business internet marketing experts love the 15th?
The 15th of the month is the payout date, the time when many of us online marketing professionals take stock of the previous month's affiliate activity and generate payments for all of our partners who quietly, often without us knowing, changed $10 for $40 many, many times.
WHY PAYING OUT MONEY IS A GOOD THING
Often when I coach new internet marketing clients, they are concerned about the "trouble" and "hassle" of operating their own affiliate program, of having to generate checks, of giving up a portion of their sales to an affiliate or partner.
My answer is the story I told in this message.
For a few hours of work each month it will take you to find super affiliates, provide them the tools they need to promote your product effectively and pay them - you get to benefit from the massive leverage of hundreds (or even thousands) of sales people promoting, endorsing and working FOR YOU to market your products to millions of eyeballs.
To learn more about setting up your online information product marketing business, create in-demand products, generate a flood of targeted traffic and launch your own successful affiliate program - drop by http://www.infomarketerszone.com
If you are a home based online marketing entrepreneur that has control of their own products, then get building your affiliate program, it won't be long before you will love the 15th of each month too.

Publish Your Book - Make it A Grande!
For all of you book publishing seekers out there, do these words mean anything to you?
A tall, half-caf, extra hot, double-shot cafe latte!
Starbucks took coffee uptown and in doing so gave it a whole new vocabulary that is now part of the daily vocabulary for Millions of caffeine addicted zombines.
Now, what will their approach be to self-publishing?
Its been reported by BusinessWeek that Starbucks will once again enter the book publishing game by publishing a children's book - as a first trial.
Once can only imagine what sort of terminology they may come up with re-defining the publishing industry - but you can bet there will be a cutesy, personalized higher cost element to their offering.
There certainly seems to be a strong appetite emerging for anyone to be able to cost-effectively produce their own books - even if they are only for friends and family, keepsakes, a short-term marketing campaign, a special occasion, etc...
The dream of writing your own book became a very achievable reality with the advent of eBooks - as many are experiencing over at the Information Marketer's Zone - now being able to get your book published by the local coffee shop will just bring that reality closer.
Bottom line, everyone has content to share, with the right focus, your experiences and knowledge can become a top selling e-book, book or information product almost instantly - the technology is here, all you need to do is get your information down.

Are You Trying Too Hard?
If there is one single principle I've learned since starting and successfully running my own business, it's that you can actually drive away results by trying too hard.
MY STRUGGLING OTTAWA SENATORS
For those of you who follow hockey, you may recognize the Ottawa Senators (my hometown team) as one of the more successful regular season teams.
They have immense talent, amazing ownership, a system that can defend and create offence better than any team in the league - at least in the regular season.
Problem is when we hit the playoffs - they have never made it past the second round even though they are often touted as a top prospect for Lord Stanley's Cup.
So what happens?
In a word, they want it so much, they actually drive away the success that comes so easy to them all season.
The same thing can happen in business.
When you try too hard, want something too much, this comes across to your customers, your market, your partners - and drives them away.
You've seen it happen, you follow all the rules, learn all the techniques, spend months - even years - building the foundation, then some runt comes in with an attitude and makes incredible success within your market right out of the blue!!
The reason is that they have a swagger, a confidence, an assuredness that reaches well beyond desparation.
You come across as desparate, conservative, cautious, and contrived - they come across as new, refreshing, innovative, with legitimate purpose of helping their market because seemingly, they don't HAVE to have your customer's sale.
Think about it, the real secret to getting better results and building your business to the next level could very well be to back off the gas.
Start having fun, enjoying your business, focus on something other than the short-term sales. Build something that feels "right" rather than something that makes logical sense.
Hopefully all this rambling makes some sense to you - it is a very powerful concept that never fails to act as a guiding principle - at least in my experience.

You Want To Write A Book - You're Not Alone
When we put out the first edition of "Ultimate Information Entreprenuer's Success Package" back in 2000 - it was entirely focused on market research - discovering markets, ideas, and topics that had the highest chance of being profitable.
Our target market included the 10's of thousands of aspiring marketers who wanted to publish their own information products - instead of marketing other people's products and making them rich, it was time that online marketers experienced the benefit of having their own products.
We certainly hit a nerve - the product instantly turned into a best-seller, captured high profile testimonials and became backed by some of the biggest names in the online marketing industry.
Something we DID NOT expect though....
Within the first 6-months we saw a pattern of non-marketing types who simply wanted to write a book but didn't know where to start, how to build their own writing career.
Looking back, we should have recognized this rather massive market, but nobody's perfect right?
Jump to 2006, the main product has gone through 4 major upgrades with the focus now much more on a complete guide to starting and building a business with information products - and we see more interest than ever in people who want to write a book.
In fact, the desire to write a book currently ranks #3 on this interesting list of goals - it does seem true, we all secretly do want to write our own best-selling book.
If you are still dreaming, wishing and planning to write a book - something with your name on it that you can earn a 100% profit, and generate expert status in your market - then be sure to check out our newly updated "Ultimate Information Entrepreneur's Success Package".
And...for those still struggling to find a hot market, and to understand what is motivating a large portion of the online market - visit this innovative Goals Site to get a read.

E-books Can Make You Famous...
Its true, e-books are starting to make unknowns into famous authors, celebrities, business people, speakers and micro-entrepreneurs.
If you've followed the band of successful entrepreneurs who have used "how to" e-books to raise their profiles and build their base of information seeking customers, you will already have recognized the potential for e-books as a wealth creation tool.
How about this example of e-book publishing in another genre entirely? This e-book success story talks about a young woman who became exhausted by her dream of getting her manuscript picked up by one of the big publishing houses so she decided to go electronic.
What's most interesting about this example is that publishers are increasingly looking at the success of e-book publishing when seeking out opportunities for publishing - in effect, having a successful e-book means that you could significantly improve your chances of getting a traditional publishing contract in the future.
Now, in my opinion, based on experience, the real opportunity for e-books is still in the niche-based "how to" format - open in many niche markets.
If you are still wondering what it takes to put together your own successful how-to e-book then this fast-track system will give you the roadmap you need.
Don't give up on your dream of writing your own book, start with an e-book, get your product on the market and build your brand, bank account and chances of being published in the future.
