So many decisions today on what offer to put in front of our customers is tainted by what you have to offer instead of what will actually be best for your customer.

Therein lies the difference between short-term, get-rich-quick type thinking versus longer-term, versus “make a customer for life” thinking.

So many entrepreneurs listen to their customer through the filter of what they have to offer, try truly listening to them and giving them what they need or want regardless of whether it is your product or not.

You will end up gaining a loyal customer for life who will then go back and find a reason to buy your product (reciprocity is the psychological term for it) instead of making a quick buck and alienating that customer because you have provided them a solution that is less than adequate for what they were looking for.

Yes, it takes giving up short-term profit, but the longer term word-of-mouth will lead to far greater business success and profit in the medium to longer-term.
