Let's face it, when we wrestle with the decision of whether or not to put our hat in the ring and commit to developing our own ebook, book, audio or video product the nagging question that just won't go away is how long will it take me to finish this product?

Three are typically other associated questions – right?

Like…

Is this REALLY going to be worth my time?

Is it even possible to do this when I can only squeeze 30-minutes out of my busy day?

Am I weeks away from making money with my information products or months?

If I create my infoproduct, will they buy it?

In other words, is the risk really worth the effort, time and energy to create your own products?

So, when people ask me how long it will take to create their information products – I give them a range of between days and weeks because that is the truth.

There have been many of us who have packaged information into a product in less than 3-days and sold thousands of copies. These quick and dirty products are typically pin-point reports, audio interviews, ebooks or video packages that target a very specific, urgent desire in the marketplace.

In other cases, I've taken as much as 3-months to complete a product where I researched and developed 75% and had the remaining portion outsourced.

I will tell you this with CERTAINTY – so long as you tap into a proven desire with a well-positioned solution and communicate the benefits of your product well, you will never again doubt the decision to create a quality information product.

Just imagine what selling a few thousand copies of a $67 information product bundle could do for your bank account, your confidence, your lifestyle and your future earning potential as you sit atop your target market.

In just a few days we will be releasing a report that we will be GIVING away titled the Market Domination Formula – this will finally unveil the most critical aspects of how to know exactly what is valuable in any marketplace and quickly package your own infoproducts for sale.

The report has been a few weeks in the making, combines over 10 years of experience I've personally had creating millions of dollars worth of products, not to mention the untold hundreds of people I have helped over the last 8-years.

So far, it's coming in at 48-pages, and the system we've put together could easily sell for $97 or more…but I've decided to give it away – that's how this information can have the biggest impact – so watch for that over the next few days.

In the meantime, if you have specific questions you would like answered in this report, we still have a last-minute ability to add some information, let us know what your biggest question is about entering or improving your information marketing profits by commenting on this blog post.

Wondering which niche markets hold the most potential?

Wish you could see some actual examples of market niches and information products that you KNOW are selling well to help you understand the real potential of an online business?

When considering growing your own ebook business, information product marketing business or online business of any kind, it helps to understand the types of niches that are being turned into both self-published and traditionally published products.

Not only will this help give you a sense for how diverse some of these topics are, but it should help your own business grow as you see others who are profiting from their work plan and market themselves and their infoproducts.

This week's top 5 has some very interesting entrants:

1. Book – "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles: Adventures In The World Of Chinese Food" by Jennifer Lee. Her story has been published here

What's most interesting about Jennifer's book is the idea of mixing two niches (our interest in food, and the Chinese culture) to put a different spin on a very competitive market. With the Bejing Olympics a short time away, tapping into a powerful wave of interest in China is not a bad way to go either.

2. Rich Schefren's Cashmap - http://www.highertrustmarketing.com/part/cashmap/ puts a new spin on monthly paid newsletters delivering process maps and business strategy each month to subscribers.

No doubt about it, Rich Schefren is one of the fastest growing internet marketing tycoons in the last couple of years where he has taken Strategic Profits from a single product six-figure income business toward a seven-figure, multi-product juggernaut.

What can we learn most from Rich's latest offering? Other than getting a hold of these unbelievably useful process maps, his masterful way of turning information into a course, improving it and turning it into high-end information products is a powerful lesson we should all put into action.

3. A new book titled "Beating Gout: A Sufferer's Guide To Living Pain Free" by Victor Konshin is another in a long line of successful "experience based" books that take a personal experience with wide relevance and help people overcome pain or experience pleasure.

What other topics can you think of where you have overcome pain where you can share both your own experience or the latest research on the topic – how about "Beating Insomnia" or "Getting Rid Of Planter's Wort"

4. InfoMarketer'sZone – my own success story. This summer we have doubled the number of members joining us over at InfoMarketer'sZone – a good deal of that has come from consistently adding high-value content and applying what we learn and teach back to our members.

The main lessons for any information product creator are to remain consistent with updating your content and the simplest way to do that is to "live within" your market. I develop infoproducts online and coach others to do the same – therefore developing content on this topic is easy and highly valueable for my audience. If you develop a product about wine making – then commit to making wine and share your experiences with your audience. It's really THAT simple folks.

5. eBook "The Magic Of Making Up" is a brilliant ebook targeted at people who want to win back ex-girlfriends or ex-spouses in relationships.

The story of how this ebook came about is very interesting. The real author (he wrote this under a psuedo name , decided to write a book in the dating niche, so he first researched the market and even put up a website and started building a list (just like we teach over at InfoMarketerszone. What he found out in a matter of weeks is that there was huge demand for broken relationships to get back together. He quickly authored the book, put it up on Clickbank and already it is one of the top selling books in its category.

The lesson, if you have a niche market idea, put up a website, create a giveaway or market an affiliate product to get your feet wet and you WILL learn enough about the market to create a hot selling infoproduct.

Anyone want more examples?

What happens when you are ready to create ebooks, but can't quite decide on which market to go after?

Do you head right into the choppy waters of a highly competitive market like weight loss or fitness, or do you play it cool and try and sneak into a less competitive market like "How To Raise a Squirrel as A Pet?" (Just Kidding!)

Believe me, we have experienced dozens and dozens of different niche markets to create. Ebook markets are widespread though mainly misunderstood, so here are some principles to follow when deciding which market to go after:

1. Hit markets where there is a history of buying behavior – so yes, that can bring you into some very competitive marktes, don't worry, we'll talk about how to eliminate that competition in a minute

2. As an infoproduct publishers your role is to bring clarity and hope to your audience with respect to very real, highly desired outcomes.

To create ebooks, information publishers GET the desires of their marketplace best are in the best position to offer PREMIUM value solutions. By knowing exactly where to look and what to look for you can easily and quickly become far more in tune with your marketplace than 99% of your competitors – advantage #1 for you. Inside our InfoPublishing Course, we share powerful, stealthy and completely free methods of "spying" on your audience to understand and target their desires.

Head over to HigherTrust Marketing and get your free 7-day Information Product Profits Course – you'll get some advanced lessons on how to determine demand within the ebook marketplace.

3. You may be dealing with the same problem that has been tackled many times before in a marketplace, but you make a difference because of YOUR solution to the problem. It's not that you have to have NEW information, just a new approach that can be applied and proven to get results. Watch the video called "Mind Reader: Tapping Into The Mind Discussions of Your Prospects" to discover exactly how to approach your audience in ways that will increase your value and completely differentiate you from your competition.

4. Find an emotional desire within a marketplace where buying behavior is proven, then go ahead and write the sales letter as if you were offering the optimal solution to your marketplace. I do this all the time – write out 20 benefits of "an ideal" product that would address the target market – then let this guide the outlining and writing of your ebook or infoproduct

Don't be afraid of busy ebook markets, instead learn to embrace hot markets, use stealthy techniques to uncover hidden demand and set your ebook or infoproduct apart by creating your own unique solution to the challenges faced by your audience.

Your reward when using these techniques to create ebook? A massive number of buyers who generate orders for your ebooks and infoproducts 24-hours and day, 7-days a week and still want MORE from you.

Each day I talk with people who want to escape their current jobs, mothers who want to turn a few spare minutes they have at home each day into a new opportunity or someone who has just been on the losing end of a company's job downsizing initiative – they consider creating their own information product, but have trouble tracking down a market and topic they're comfortable will sell and that they can live with over the next year.

In fact, topics exist all around us each day. Through your own experiences, frustrations you hear others speak about, online discussion forums, and even the news…YES, the news.

When I first logged on this morning to answer my mail, process orders and provide customer support to customers of my various businesses – my browser default page is My Yahoo – where I immediately get access to top stories in areas such as Health, Entertainment, Business and Lifestyle topics.

There are dozens of hot topics each day that present themselves as news stories each day that could easily be turned into top selling information products – they have a built-in, proven audience or they wouldn't have made it to the front page of Yahoo in the first place.

For example, I see "How To Land A Job In The First 10-Minutes" – a story that rightly points to the fact that any job, including your dream job, the decision is made in the first 10-minutes and then goes on to share several points that can help given this reality.

Terrific market (hungry, desparate job seekers), great topic (how to master the nerve-racking interview) – but you know what is missing?

Detail, specifics, expert opinions, a method and checklist that you can turn into a report, ebook or home study course in how to prepare for interviews.

The same goes for articles you find in magazines, even chapters in books you see in the bookstore can be turned into more detailed information products – the great thing is that the demand for the topic is already proven! No guesswork, if the story appears in a top magazine, news portal or as a chapter in a book, then the topic has already been studied for demand quite thoroughly – so you are safe in knowing that your efforts will not be wasted in producing your infoproduct.

The next step…use the formula presented in our 45-day To Your Own InfoProduct Profit video course inside InfoMarketer'sZone and be seeing the profits of your new online business within 2-months. Finally, a real business online in less than 60-days.

When you enter into a new market for your info product or affiliate marketing business - or even when you want to get a better handle on a market you are already involved with there are two major ways we teach as part of the 45-Day Info Product Profits System to get fast, accurate feedback from your market.

1. Surveys

You may be just starting to build your list or you may already have a list of a few thousand people, either way, you will need to produce content.

That means, some of the content you would typically sell in terms of your own product or someone else's product if you want to start by marketing affiliate products must be packaged and given away in order to build up a core of loyal, responsive subscribers.

First, you can use survey tools such as Survey Monkey (which you can use for free for the first 100 responses) or Ask Database where you can construct powerful surveys that range from radio button forced response to open text box "give us your answer" type feedback.

Next, you must have a good sense for what YOU want to know. Ideally, you ask one to two questions in a survey to get the highest and best response. That means you can test one or two ideas maximum, so do your research before so you can ask the right question.

For instance, if you wanted to explore the potential of the "Iguana Pet Owner's" niche market, you would ask something to the effect of "What is the #1 challenge you are dealing with right now as someone who is or desires to be an Iguana Pet Owner?"

You will get responses that range from those who want help picking an Iguana, those who want to know what it takes to care for them, feed them, etc…

Now, you have dozens of potential topics that can be organized or added to an existing info product AND you can pull a few of the ideas to create a killer report, audio or video series to help you attract subscribers.

For those already on your list you can certainly drive traffic directly to the question in the same way – with the promise of more valuable free content on its way.

2. Your Own Site Statistics

I know many people who have been running sites for the last year and have NEVER looked at their site statistics – they're missing out on a boatload of intelligence that can directly lead to profitable info product ideas, content ideas and marketing insights.

Specifically, they should have access to…

a) What sites are visited the most
b) What words do they last put in the search engine before reaching your site
c) What referral sites are sending them your way
d) With more advanced tracking you can also see navigation paths and length of time spent on each page.

So, let's say you have 6 pages setup on your Iguana site – "How To Pick An Iguana", "How To Care for Your Iguana", "How To Feed Your Iguana", "How To Have Fun With Your Iguana" "Iguana Training Videos".

In other words, you setup a content page for each concept or idea you want to test and drive traffic to your site, within a very short time you will see exactly which pages your traffic prefers and what keywords they used to find the information.

Once you understand that most people go to "How To Care For Your Iguana" you have a pretty good idea that's a potential hot topic for an info product targeted to your niche market.

Over at InfoMarketersZone we outline techniques such as this to make sure you are certain about your target market before launching into months of work developing products around the wrong ideas. If you're ready to ramp up your info product business or just want to get your first site launched on the way to a full-time online markeing business, head over to The Zone, it will give you a great first-start!

When you are learning the powerful business of creating and selling information online there are many distractions and aspects that can bog you down. The result, you can never seem to get rolling with any kind of momentum on your online business.

If I had to put my finger on the #1 reason most new online entreprenuers fail to build their business to the next level based on packaging information products for profit it would have to be getting sidetracked by the least important aspects and NEVER making progress on the primary function of getting your product defined, outlined and launched.

Over at InfoMarketer'sZone we have helped hundreds of highly motivated internet marketers, writers, speakers and professionals re-focus their enthusiasm, desire and effort on the most important tasks helping them get their infoproducts out much faster.

Instead of wondering how many pages your ebook should be, whether you should have a cover page, or how to take payment or distribute your ebook, we first focus on the MOST important part of create a top selling information proudct – the very basis of building a strong and vibrant online business.

IT'S THE SYSTEM THAT SELLS

Think about it – when you buy a "how to" or informational product you are starting with an objective in mind and will buy if you are convinced that a given product or product creator has the system, process, or experience that will help you achieve your objective in less time, with less pain with more effectiveness.

If your goal is to lose weight – then you need to be convinced there is something both unique about the program you are considering AND it needs to be easier or more effective in some way for the type of person you are.

TAKING YOUR PROSPECT FROM A-Z

Most high quality infoproducts are built upon a system for getting from A-Z in a simple and more effective way.

You identify Z then put yourself back in the shoes of A – walk them through each step of way.

But don't stop there, test the system either on yourself or on some initial beta testers (just like software companies test their new code to discover bugs or enhancements required).

Once you have a system that works, then you have endless choices about how to turn that system into a product or series of products.

For example, perhaps your system is quite simple, but execution of the system is tough. Then you give away your up-front system (or sell it as a low-priced product or even create an affiliate program where you pay affiliates majority of up-front revenue) while you create a back-end membership site, coaching program, monthly insider's club to keep them up to date.

On the other hand, if the biggest value is in the uniqueness or clarity of the system itself, you can get more money for the up-front product – perhaps launching right into a high-end product immediately which will work as long as you have some proof (testimonials and case studies) that your system that you tested really does work.

In any case, focus less on trying to write the first chapter of your ebook and more on outlining and testing the system you will offer – then worry about packaging it – hell, get someone else to package it for you at that point.

Something I have found works very well for me and in teaching those who have been struggling with "getting started" and "getting their infoproduct finished" for years is to NOT look at your project as a product at first, instead look for a nagging, emotionally charged problem to solve and outline a set of steps that would allow anyone to solve the problem.

Regardless, instead of focusing on the details of your ebook or business online, get your system down first – after that you have dozens of options about how to package that system into ebooks, books, membership sites, services and more.

Let me recommend heading over to InfoMarketer'sZone where we work each and every day to help our members focus on high-profit niche markets and topics, design their information product business, get their "system" developed and pakcaged right through to launch.

So you have a few ebook ideas in the back of your mind…you've done some basic keyword research and discovered that although there is interest in the market you are entering, there isn't clear-cut evidence of people searching under the keywords you have in mind for your new ebook topic.

Will it sell? What should your next step be to test the market before developing your ebook idea?

I typically like to see some sign of buying activity around your chosen topic…for many that scares them because it means competition but for me it means less risk that the topic isn't HOT enough emotionally to have people spend their money.

But..the opposite is the real problem – when you become so scared of competition that you convince yourself there is a topic with no (or little) existing competition and surely your customers will buy the information you package against that topic, but WAIT!

Many of the members we now have over at InfoMarketer'sZone thought that way too…but then quickly changed their minds after taking the courses and reviewing the processes we have outlined in this InfoProduct Entrepreneur's Private Site.

For example…

Ask yourself this…"Is the problem you are targeting a problem you THINK or feel people will buy a solution to or is it a problem where you see EVIDENCE of money being spent?"

Money being spent could be…

1. Other products being sold on Amazon

2. Magazine articles that target your specific topic

3. eBooks or online digital infoproducts

4. Seminars, workshops, and higher-end products and services

5. Affiliate programs on Clickbank, commissions junction, linkshare, etc…

In addition to using these research techniques (we outlined exactly how over at InfoMarketer'sZone) – you should also begin by setting up a "mini-content site" where you can quickly begin to attract traffic and build a smallish list of a few hundred prospects to which you can survey and get some additional, direct input into your ebook idea and infoproduct business plans.

If you follow the research techniques above AND begin by building a core prospect list you WILL get the answers as to what topics hold the most potential within your niche removing risk and significantly reducing the time to profit for your new online business.

Ok, so maybe it's not ENTIRELY scientific, but it is the process that every long-term, successful, consistently growing online business I know about follows…

I'm talking about all KINDS of online businesses in every niche imagineable, they all follow this system for continually growing their business and profits while adding tremendous value to their respective marketplaces.

Ready…

Locate a Niche Market —> Produce Quality, Directed Content —-> Build A List Of Raving Fans —-> Ask Them What They Want —-> Produce Products That Give Them What They Want —-> Rinse and Repeat.

You may have a few questions…

1. Are all steps necessary to build an online business…YES! Missing any one of these steps will either result in immediate failure or will limit your growth potential should you happen to get lucky early on.

2. Does this happen overnight? No, but once you understand the formula and come up with a plan aimed at achieving each step, you can work this process within a few weeks…as we teach in the 45-day Information Product Profits Course.

3. What does "Quality Content" mean? Ah…glad you asked since this is one of the biggest mysteries, yet most important steps to really hitting the mark with your online business.

Some people take the word "quality" to mean they must be an expert or that they must produce large "quantity" of information in great detail.

Instead, "quality" – at least perceived quality which is what we are really after – has more to do with understanding exactly what your market wants and why they want it – then giving it to them as if you REALLY understand where they're coming from. In other words, "quality" content means you are very good at hitting the mark in reading the minds of your niche market and can quickly get them the best answers to their questions.

Within InfoMarketerszone we focus heavily on market research techniques and methods for gaining a deep understanding of the information and content triggers that exist right now in any given market.

So, now you have the Scientific Formula for making money online…what will stop you from putting this formula into action and finally achieving the goals you've hesitated on setting for yourself and your family?

It's so tempting to drive into a niche market with your own internet marketing business based on what you believe to be a desire or demand for information.

I've often said myself "If this market actually had X, that would really help them".

Then, you charge off and spend two months building your internet marketing business around that niche market offering them product X only to be sorely disappointed when nobody comes to visit and sales are non-existant.

What was the fundamental internet marketing mistake?

We assumed we knew what our market wanted, or more precisely, we assumed THEY knew what we thought would improve their lives.

Right or wrong, it doesn't matter – the fact is you were out of alignment with the desires that your market had at a specific point in time and that means low sales.

TWO FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF INTERNET MARKETING…

Ready, here's the first principle:

1. Only give a market what they want (not what you think they want)

Ah yes, but there's an even bigger secret…

Sell them what they WILL want BEFORE they even know it!

Really…

By getting inside a typical prospect's mind, understanding what is motivating them and the internal conversation going on inside of their head you can pick out things they will want before they even think of it themselves.

How many people would have said they wanted to watch movies on a cellphone – yet they are.

How many people would have said they would pay for dowloadable ringtones yet it's a billion dollar business…

You may believe the best way to research your market is to see what they are asking for on discussion groups, interviews and surveys, BUT…

What about all of the things they really want but aren't telling because they either haven't realized it yet or do not respond consciously in a survey…it may be too personal or sensitive or important for them to come right out and tell someone.

So, you've got to figure it out by studying their buying behavior. We have dozens of techniques inside InfoMarketersZone that help top information product entrepreneurs look deeply into the buying behavior and trends in their niche markets to uncover hidden pockets of demand – demand that even the prospect themselves sometimes do not fully recognize.
