Welcome to 2014!

Have you started off 2014 with a positive attitude?

More than ever my experience tells me that your attitude governs your altitude…in other words if you start 2014 really convinced that this year will be big for you and your family (even if you are not quite sure how or why yet) then you have ignited a spark that can turn into massive returns through this fine year.

Have you got that IT WILL HAPPEN FOR ME THIS YEAR attitude?

Do you really believe it with 110% certainty?

Let’s go through 4 things you can start doing right now to make sure this year is your turning point…a year when you look back not with resentment and frustration but with joy and amazement!

1. Setup Your End Goals

Don’t sigh…this is critical stuff!   There is nearly ZERO chance of you getting what you want IF you don’t know what it is that you want.

Start with your ultimate achievements – even if they may be targets beyond 2014, start with the biggest, boldest end you can and be specific.

Let’s say you want to have $1Million by the time you turn 40 (be specific, pick a date that means something to you)

Write that out…be specific about what your life will be like, where you will live, who you will spend time with and how you will feel at that point in your life.

Go ahead and write out 3-4 of these objectives, my recommendation is that you have one for each major area of your life – finances, career, health and relationships/family

2. Find YOUR Ideal Business

Too many people fail at starting a business because they follow someone else rather than figure out what works best for them.

There are 3 main areas where you want to dig in and decide to make your own path on your road to achieving your business building goals:

  • What “type” of business would you like to run.  Do you like building websites?  Teaching people? Selling? Writing? Producing Videos? Writing ads or website copy? Selling other people’s stuff?    Look at the different business models online (we spend the first week reviewing these inside InfoMarketer’sZone for our fast-track members) – when you pick the right business type, the path is MUCH simpler and faster
  • What market will you serve.  Many of you reading this already understand and have ways of helping certain markets right now?  If not, if you want to enter a new market, having laser focus on that market is critical to ramping up quickly
  • Know your main role.  Anyone who operates a significant business will tell you, you can’t do it all yourself.  But, you will contribute significantly to its success, so you best figure out what your skill, desire and strengths are to get the most out of your effort and energy

3. Create Something

For all of you reading this that are heading down a path (or may already be doing business) selling other people’s stuff (affiliate marketing, e-commerce, finders fees, Adsense or ad-based business) or selling services (where you trade time for money) do yourself a HUGE favor this year, create something where you work once and sell over and over again.

For us, information products such as ebooks, courses, manuals, membership sites and home study programs along with group coaching have proven to be the main source of our income over the last several years.  What is best about this approach is that you spend time once and then have your own content or product to sell over and over again AND you have an army of people selling other people’s stuff that can put you in front of their customers without you having to market at all!

Creating something of value and then selling it via affiliates/partners is as close to an automatic income stream as you will ever get…and it goes on and on.

4. Build A Business Not An Opportunity Or Product

The final piece of advice that will change the way you may think about growing your business this next year is how to serve your market in several ways, give them multiple solutions for the same problem, offer them more as they evolve into new frustrations and demands…in other words, study your market and evolve with them – this is what businesses do.

Many people ask me if there is merit in Internet Marketing as a market…that tells me they have little understanding of what a business is.   A business is simply focusing on a market segment and giving them what they want.  You can use internet marketing principles to reach and sell into these markets, but the business itself is solving their issues, giving them what they want and staying closer to them than your competition.

Are you ready to KILL IT! this New Year?

We hope so, you have our word that we will be along for the ride helping you where we can if you choose to tune in!
