Are You Committed To Blogging?

I get asked by many people whether blogging is really "worth it".

Of course, the real question they are asking is – in my quest to become rich and famous, will blogging get me there?

Can blogging serve to build a great base for money-making and fame-seeking endeavors? 

Sure…but so can writing a books, starting a forum, becoming a radio personality, and even causing a scene aboard a Jet Blue airplane if you are a flight attendant – for that matter!

The point being, blogging can certainly work to bring in traffic and connect with your marketplace, but here's the secret catch…you ready?

Blogging is no different than any other method of reaching your market today in the sense that you must…

• Understand your market and what drives them better than your competition
• Have something to offer them that starts where their current mindset/emotional state is right now and brings them closer to where they want to be
• Know that your blog needs to touch on an emotional nerve each day – it's not how MUCH content you develop as it is how effective that content is in connecting emotionally with your audience
• Be consistent - it's not enough to connect once every few weeks or even once each week – be prepared to blog daily and constantly touch the hearts & passions of your marketplace

Many people think blogging is too hard because they need to produce a book everytime they sit down to produce their next blog posting, but try this instead…

Give yourself 30-minutes each day to view the daily struggle from your market's perspective and come up with one thoughtful point communicated in just a few sentences that tweaks a nerve and really connects with your reader – don't get me wrong, this is still challenging, but much more fun, will get you some pretty awesome results if you do it correctly and will be more than worth your while.
