The ClickBank Marketplace site is interesting. I am surprised at how much higher the Gravity numbers are for Health & Fitness products than for Employment products (my area of consulting expertise), even during a recession. I really enjoyed the video…thanks for making it.
Thanks Jeff for the insights into ClickBank and the advice to NOT shy away from big competition topics. I've been reviewing a lot of the health and fitness info and have plans to deal with both the top sellers and then come out with my own fitness ebook that caters to another aspect based on my own experiences.

Patricia – you have the right idea. So many people when they think of finding a niche or sub-niche would have just said – "women who want to lose weight" – but in many cases that is not what the customer has in mind…instead they have a negative image of their thighs, or a guy will have a negative image of his belly or love handles. abs, etc…
Focusing on toning arms is a great area – what I would do next is 1) Research what ebooks and products already exist around this area – if they are successful then study their language closely 2) Search forums to uncover signs of how women talk about this problem…for example, they may not be looking to "tone their arms" as much as "lose fat hanging from their arms", etc… What you want is to find out how the majority of your market describes their problem – that allows you to target their headspace close and your infoproduct will sell better

Janet – great observation on the gravity of the two markets. First, don't trust gravity 100%, there are ways that CB marketers "game" the gravity numbers to some extent. It is not that they make up the sales, these products ARE selling well – but gravity is a measure of how broadly the product is selling through partners and there are ways to setup a number of personal accounts to make it look like a wide partner network thereby inflating gravity numbers — BUT the bottom line is that health & wellness, weight loss is a very popular niche
Some of the challenges with the employment niche (I don't mean to dissuade you – just to take this into account as you proceed)
1) Many people expect others to help counsel them with employment issues – creating a resume services, employment listing sites, etc… all sell extremely well – it does seem that people don't take responsibility in this space for charting their own destiny — sort of a passive attitude I guess. We all know that is not the way it should be, but if that is the attitude it is easier to go with the flow than trying to "educate" or "change" a market
2) Unemployed people are often low on cash, so they tend not to be in a "buying" mode which limits the upside potential unless you can identify a sub-niche who want a career change without having zeroed out their funds

I have been trying to assist the unemployed with dismal failure for sometime now. After watching your video, I now know, why I have been unsuccessful in this niche. Unemployed people are indeed low on cash, it doasn't matter how aggresively you market to them. The point is, they don't have the money to help themselves. I will have to do some serious research around the health & wellness and weight loss.

The challenge with that niche Justice is that they are low on cash and most have not yet figured out how to take control of their lives and career – they put their jobs in the hands of their last employer and now want to put the "job" of finding a job into the hands of someone else…not seek out information to do it themselves.
That said – there are niches on how to transition to self-employment, how to get a promotion, and how to change careers for the disgruntled employee that can work.
I always like to stick to the BIG 3 market areas – Health, Money and Relationships…these are the core drivers that motivate 90% of our behavior. Within these there are hundreds of thousands of niche topics and ideas
