Honestly, I just had to put a few important thoughts down after having a rather disturbing, but very typical, discussion with a brand new InfoMarketing Zoner!

The discussion centered around how he could get more traffic to his site and convert more of that traffic into paying customers…but it started off in a rather odd way.

The first question out of “Newbie X” mouth was “Do you think it’s a good idea for me to pay for some fake testimonials on Fiverr?”

So this is it…his lack of success in online business didn’t have anything to do with his market, his offer and value in the marketplace, his content (or lack thereof it turned out in this case), his sales funnel or his marketing techniques…instead it somehow came down to FAKE testimonials!

Save me please….

Don’t Get Fooled Again…

Remember the WHO song Don’t Get Fooled Again?

I fully understand it is easy to get turned around out there with all of the dis-information and mis-information…you can easily fall into the trap of believing someone else’s completely made up crap.

Luckily “Newbie X” saw the light and joined InfoMarketer’sZone where he is going to get advice based on years of practical business growth first-hand from your’s truly who works each day to continue building our multiple online businesses  as our TOP priority.

Here’s what I shared with “Newbie X” so you can benefit too…when it comes to understanding the steps and critical pieces of growing REAL online businesses, here’s what you want to do…

1. Make sure you understand what business you are in…what value you are bringing to your market in exchange for them spending money with you/through you.  Too many online entrepreneurs are putting lipstick on a pig and eventually they fail hard.  What I mean is that you can’t fool a market (for long) into bogus value add in the market….make sure you know how you add value to your end customer and you will be well on your way to hitting it big.

2. Generate content with an aim to building a community (not just to attract traffic and hopefully sell them something 1-2 times out of 100…instead you want to generate a thriving community of core champions that then extends out and grows on its own.

3. Create products with value…I am a huge fan of information products, services work fine too…THEN you can leverage partners/jv’s/affiliates who can bring you a TON of very targeted traffic in exchange for giving them a portion of the profits.   My first 10,000 person subscriber list and first $50,000 in sales was built entirely through leveraging partners with my own products.

4. Paid traffic is good too if you understand your conversion and ROI…that can come from steps 1-3 above and then scale with paid traffic once you have a handle on your ROI

The incredible opportunity exists for anyone driven to start a business to succeed with their own online business, but you have to treat it as a business and remember some fundamentals like you must have a market, you must add value, you must have picked a successful business model, you want to create value and to know your ROI…not rocket science but seems to be missing from the vast majority of internet start-ups we work with.
