Hey everyone, I get a great deal of messages from subscribers and customers each week, I respond to every one of them.  It takes time, and I may not be able to keep answering every one of them – but it is part of what I love to do.

I was barely away from the breakfast table this morning when I first checked my mail and saw a message that was written by someone who had a TON of experience in a past career training in _______ niche market.  (Keeping it a secret to protect his idea and market, and besides, it doesn’t really matter to get this point across)

Well, his challenge was he had many ideas – each one seemingly legit, his struggle was to know where to move next.

I was flattered – he had been educated by some pretty big names in the offline and online marketing world, so I put together these 7 steps that may help you if you are in a similar situation where you have some ideas rolling around in your brain, but aren’t quite sure where to go next with your information product marketing business:

I understand from your email that you want to produce a niche product to help an industry vertical (or other segment of business) with their sales or marketing – correct?

I’ve coached people who have provided similar niche products to – for example – Real Estate sales people and companies, banking institutions, and speakers/consultants.

I myself have been involved in preparing courses for larger businesses some years ago.

Here’s the steps I think you need to follow next:

1. Focus in on the first opportunity (meaning deciding on the problem you will address which will help refine your target market)

2. Create an initial domain or set of domains with a website aimed primarily at building a list (through giveaway report, minicourse or other opt-in insentive).  I can give some pointers in getting this done from a webmaster perspective.

3. Outline your product – including any market research required (Of course he could use the techniques and strategies outlined in the Ultimate Information Entrepreneur’s Success Package to speed things up considerably)

4. Write the sales letter – good test to see if the outline includes enough value to create a killer sales letter.

5. Either outsource or create the product yourself

6. Quietly have your product reviewed by a dozen or so people on your list or other experts that will both serve to get you testimonials and/or promote your product when its ready.

7. Full launch

Obviously this is simplified – but hopefully it helps to understand the path in front of you.

In fact, there is a full 5-page Information Product Checklist that has proven to work for many information product entrepreneurs available as part of our Information Marketer’s Zone members – if you’re serious about taking the next step, you will want to get over there as quickly as you can.

__________ Let me know if you have any other specific questions I can answer for you.

Cheers…

Jeff
