It has to be one of the questions that comes up the most from new writers, entrepreneurs and those who want to write their own book or ebook – “How long did it take you to research and write your book?”
It All Started With Our First Born!
With 12 books now released and selling on the internet, not one of them has taken me longer than 3-months to write, research and launch – and all of them have made me money within the first week of being listed online.
The first ebook I put together on taking new ideas to market was written during some time away from a former job during the birth of our first child. Between feedings and usually during the afternoon when baby and Mom were sleeping I would skip over to the local coffee shop and spend 2-3 hours a day hammering out that ebook.
I should mention that our first born decided that 6-hours of sleep during a 24-hour period was sufficient for the first few months of his time here on Earth, so mentally I wasn’t exactly in the best shape. I still remember well minutes passing while I stared blankly out the coffee shop windows shattering the notion that one can’t get sleep with one’s eyes open!
Within 2-weeks the majority of that ebook was written, but as life so often does, a few curve balls were thrown and it took me another few weeks to finish the ebook.
Once that ebook was written I spent another 2-weeks learning, creating and outsourcing work on the ebook cover and getting my website up.
After writing a few articles to generate traffic I had my first sales within 24-hours of the book being setup on my payment processor – $47 a copy X 5 sales = a nice profit on the $100 or so I had spent on getting my ebook cover & website graphics developed.
Not bad…a profit within 7-days of putting my first ebook online!
Cool – Now Let’s Do It Again…And Again…And Again!
That was back in 2001, since then we have produced roughly an ebook or book a year within some extra projects thrown in and now have the system down to under 30-days – it was from this system we personally have used 12-times now that we produced the 45-day Information Product Profits Formula at InfoMarketer’sZone, a system many others have used to follow in our footsteps.
