To be a high-achiever in business you need to have two things crystal clear:

  1. What your main purpose for driving your business is
  2. How you can best reach the audience with your audience and realize your business purpose

The first one has to do with WHY you live, breath, eat and sleep your mission to grow your business while the second has to do with knowing where your market is and how best to reach them.

This may sound obvious to many of you, but I see people getting the two mixed up ALL of the time.

When we help fuel the businesses of so many inside Information Marketer’s Zone one two of the most common areas that lead otherwise incredible people and entrepreneurs to NOT succeed are:

  • First, they haven’t yet identified a reason they MUST succeed at their business
  • Second, they get confused by letting their own opinions and feelings about HOW they market and reach their customers trump efficiency

Here’s what I mean.

Absence of A BIG Mission

Look, building a business that delivers value to your marketplace, builds financial security for you and your family and does the same for others you employ, generates a legacy for you and improves the world we live in is not something to be taken lightly.  You are impacting the lives of others and you are taking control of your own future directing the ship when 95% of the population chooses to simply get on board and take a ride.

That’s a BIG deal, not something to be taken lightly.  To achieve in something so massive, so exciting, so big and so all-encompassing it needs to come from every fiber of your being.   In other words, you have to be fueled by an immense, certain drive to achieve something very BIG and meaningful within you.

It could be to control your energy, creativity, time and very human effort rather than allowing someone else to control this over your lifetime – that’s BIG isn’t it?  It could be to decide this is the Ultimate life lesson for your kids so they grow up and pass along to their next-generation the same fundamental values and beliefs about being self-sufficient and in control of their own destinies that you are.  Whatever the mission, it needs to be much bigger than just…I want to escape my job or I want to make some extra money.

Do you have your BIG mission nailed?

Many people believe they do, but when we review it with them, turns out it can be made much more vivid, powerful and energizing than the objectives they have now.  This alone takes many entrepreneurs from small and stuck to massive and powerful within a very short period of time.

Efficiency In Marketing

The second area of major confusion for most entrepreneurs we help inside InfoMarketer’sZone is around how they go about DOING their business, creating their products, reaching their market, developing content, marketing and supporting their customers.

Here, they get all wrapped up in what they themselves like and dislike.

This keeps them from reaching high levels of efficiency preventing them from really breaking out in their business.

For example, we worked with an online entrepreneur that had a terrific relationship-based training program with a killer angle…but he wanted nothing to do with social media, didn’t want to create videos, wasn’t creating enough content, etc…

His thinking was that as long as he created a brilliant product that somehow people would find it and partners will sell it so he can laugh all the way to the bank.

Trouble was, over the past 2-years this wasn’t working…hmmmm, just a tiny hint.

The reality is that it doesn’t matter what he likes, what he wants to do given that his assumptions about how to reach his market were all wrapped up in his own biases.

Look, you reach the market as BIG and as efficiently as you can – period!

That means knowing where your customers are, how they move platforms, where they will see you and how you can deliver your message to as many of those platforms as you can.

You don’t have to like it, you don’t even have to be overly good at every one…but you do have to know where they are, commit to reaching them there and getting better at it over time.

What drives you do do Marketing that you aren’t especially jazzed about?

Your mission of course…and that’s why we started with point #1.

When you are driven by a BIG mission, you don’t mind doing the day-to-day things that you may not completely love.  You are willing to put aside temporary hesitation about tackling a new method of market because you are driven by the overriding mission of growing your business and you know that marketing efficiently and effectively is the only way to get there.

That’s how you turn a struggling, limp and lifeless business into a massive, BIG and effective large profit center.

Are you up for it?
