My first product ended up to generate 5-figures in the first month.

Here’s 5 reasons why.

  1. Focused On Desired Outcome

My purpose wasn’t to inform or educate, it was to TRANSFORM.

If your product is to help lose weight, create a plan that – if implemented, will lose your audience weight.

If your product is to help a trade contractor to build an Enterprise, help him take the steps necessary to build his first team.

Too many people write or speak about what their audience should know versus exactly what they should do and how.

  1. Create In Order To Apply

If you are writing an ebook or developing the outline for a course, outline using the exact steps your customer will apply to his or her life.

It’s more than just telling them what to do in general.

More about giving them the exact daily or weekly plan they need to take to achieve a step toward your desired outcome

  1. Backed By Practical or Well Researched Content

Don’t pull things out of the air.

Your system for achieving the goal of your course or written product is YOUR system…you will succeed or fail based on how well it works.

What I like to do is the following:

a) Select areas where I have at least some experience.
b) Research the latest, best techniques
c) Focus on the gaps – where can you improve what is already being taught or shared?
d) Try your system out on a “beta” list from your market (not friends and family as they are most likely not your target market)

That gives you a solid product with some wins under your belt which gives you confidence, and results in credibility within your market

  1. Cut Out The Fluff

Even knowing my specific purpose and sticking to a solid outline, I can usually eliminate 30-40% of my initial draft content due to the “Fluff” factor.

Look for generalities, repetition, wordiness, wandering, bad examples, or other content that is not 100% focused on helping your prospect achieve their desired result.

I would FAR rather have 20-pages or 20-minutes of video that gets results for my customers than 200 pages or hours of video that doesn’t.

  1. Use Stories and Examples Where It Counts

I like to include 2-4 solid stories or examples in my products that clearly demonstrate or support a point I’m trying to make.

Using stores can be very powerful…it helps your customer relate to the material and helps them both grasp as well as believe that a certain step is worth taking.

Since releasing my first $47 product more than a decade ago, we have released dozens of others at all sorts of price-points…the same principles ensure that each sells well and I have satisfied customers who will buy the next offer I share.
