Fancy yourself a famous fiction or non-fiction self-published book writer?

Looking to publish your knowledge, experience or researched information into self-published books that sell for profit online?

Perhaps your goal is to build your own self-publishing empire, the next “Chicken Soup For The Soul” series…

Whatever your reasons, there are very powerful marketing tips you can put to quick use in marketing your self-published book online.

We have 12+ information products (mix of ebooks, books, study guides, membership sites, coaching programs, etc…) that we market in 4 distinct niche markets – here are some of our top tips for getting attention and sales for those self-published infoproducts.

1. Publishing Your Own Blog– As we outline in the 6-Week Information Profits Training Program, setting up your own free blog is one of the easiest and most important steps to marketing anything online…including your own self-published book.

Blogs are great places to create content (which attracts searches and eyeballs), connect with your readers and “warm” them to your style and information, and can act as a great pre-sales lead-in to your Amazon book page…driving traffic to your book will improve your sales substantially. The syndication aspect of blogs spreads the word, various plugins that allow you to bookmark your blog helps cast the net further yet.

2. Issue press releases about your book – one press release submitted across various PR aggregators (free options as well as paid) will not only get attention and some additional publicity offers but will provide backlinks to your website (blog if you followed the recommendation above) and improve your search rankings so more people will find your blog

3. Build an email list by giving away a sample or portion of your work…having the ability to communicate further with your list and market additional books or products to them in the future is well worth the effort

4. Social networking (Twitter, Facebook to start with) – you can begin building these simply by cross-posting your blog posts and get dual use out of your blog writing…this will begin to build a following. You can then proactively build your network by seeking out others by keyword.

5. Setup Your Own Affiliate Program. One of the most powerful techniques for selling a truckload of books and information products online is to allow partners to promote your book for a share of the profit.  Yes, they can do this with Amazon’s affiliate program if your self-published book is on Amazon, but the payout is quite low so it’s hard to get them super-motivated.  A better option is to put together a self-published bundle that includes a book or ebook and something else such as a video training, private access to an online membership site (some content you password protect) or an extra downloadable ebook, report or study guide where you create a bundle price and offer it through your own affiliate program at higher commission (40-50% will typically attract significant interest).

We all know that marketing is critical to self-publishing your own book, with these 5 tips you can jumpstart your sales and reach your self-publishing goals fast.
